Kalispell Regional Medical Center Emergency Department

Our doors are never closed. The Emergency Department at Kalispell Regional Medical Center is always open to provide our patients with accessible patient and family centered care. The Emergency Department is staffed around the clock with skilled professionals, and support personnel. We provide helicopter response, emergency care, fixed wing air ambulance transport, ground ambulance services and a Level III Trauma Center to Flathead County and surrounding rural communities.

When should you visit the ER?

Kalispell Regional Medical Center recommends a visit to the Emergency Room if you or someone you know experiences any of the following:

  • Sudden or unexplained loss of consciousness
  • Sudden onset of one-sided weakness or confusion
  • Sudden or severe pain that does not subside
  • Chest pain and/or numbness in the face, arm, or leg, or difficulty speaking
  • Severe shortness of breath
  • High fever accompanied by stiff neck or mental confusion
  • Coughing or vomiting blood
  • Severe cuts or wounds that will not stop bleeding
  • A possible broken bone resulting from a fall or other activities

If your condition requires a trip to the Emergency Room, please remember to bring the following information:

  • List of current medications
  • List of current health conditions
  • Insurance information
  • Emergency Room co-payments

If you are unsure, or if your condition does not require an Emergency Room visit, please call your doctor’s office. To find a physician, please consult our Medical Staff Directory.

Urgent/Walk-In Care

Not all accidents or illnesses require an Emergency Room visit; if you would like to be seen in a non-emergent setting, Kalispell Regional Healthcare offers a variety of options for people who may need walk-in care for minor injuries or illnesses.
