John Tremper, MD, joined Pathways Treatment Center in January 2013 as its hospitalist – the in-house “family doctor.” Dr. Tremper carried out his pre-med and biology studies at Montana State University in Bozeman, then graduated with honors from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He completed his residency and internship with University of Utah Family Medicine, where he pursued a rural practice track. In his final year of residency, Dr. Tremper was named the chief resident. He established his private practice with The Professional Center, now called the North Valley Professional Center, where he practiced family medicine until 2009. During those 15 years, he also maintained full privileges at North Valley Hospital, working in adult inpatient medicine, pediatric inpatient medicine, obstetrics, surgery assists and emergency room medicine. Dr. Tremper then spent two years with the Blackfeet Community Hospital in Browning as an emergency room and hospital physician, before joining the Flathead Community Health Center in Kalispell in 2010. He continues to see patients at the community center while he offers medical care for patients in the Pathways program. The fifth-generation Montana native enjoys skiing and snowboarding, sailing, hiking and spending time with his three children.
